Aydin and Jo Jo Dan battle for the World Boxing Council Welterweight Interim Championship

Montreal, Canada — ARENA BOX PROMOTION in collaboration with GANKOR PROMOTIONS will present a night of World Championship boxing in Istanbul, Turkey on Saturday, June 5th  where the main event will feature the battle of undefeated fighters for the  vacant World Boxing Council Welterweight Interim (Silver) Title between SELCUK ‘Mini Tyson’ AYDIN and IONUT ‘Jo Jo Dan’ ION.

 
SELCUK AYDIN (19-0-0, 15 KO), a native of Trabzon, Turkey is the current WBC International Champion. He is known as a powerful puncher and he has earned the nickname “Mini Tyson” with his 12 KO’s in 1st or 2nd round of his 19 fights. After a stellar amateur career, AYDIN turned pro in Germany where he became a boxing fans favorite with his all action style. In his last fight, he also won the EBU Welterweight Title with a 9th round KO of durable Jackson Osei Bonsu (Belgium). 
 
 IONUT “JO JO” DAN ION (26-0-0, 14 KO), a native of Bucharest, Romania is living and fighting out of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He is the current #1 contender at Super Lightweight and he holds the WBC CONTINENTAL AMERICAS Championship Belt. Unable the fight an elimination fight at Super Lightweight for almost 1 year, JO JO DAN welcomed the opportunity to replace LUIS COLLAZO (USA) who pulled out of the WBC INTERIM (SILVER) Championship. For this fight, JO JO DAN will move up to welterweight where he fought 13 out his 26 fights.
